Greg Buckles is the Founding Pastor of Mansfield Bible Church (MBC), which he and his wife Susan launched in 1985 after he earned his ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. A graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in music, Greg played viola in the UT Symphonic Orchestra, the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Austin Symphony before teaching orchestra for two years in Arlington ISD. While in college, Greg came to faith through the ministry of The Navigators. Initially drawn to missions after a life-changing summer in Haiti, God redirected his path toward church planting and pastoral ministry. Under his leadership, MBC grew from two families to a congregation of over 350.
Alongside his local ministry, Greg has spent the last 14 years equipping indigenous pastors internationally, teaching in countries like Ecuador, Brazil, Tanzania, and India. In 2024, while continuing part-time at MBC, he also joined the Global Training Network (GTN), focusing on pastoral development across the Majority World. His teaching has reached pastors in remote Tanzanian villages, as well as leaders in Pakistan, Nepal, and other key communities. His subjects include Bible Study Methods, Old and New Testament Surveys, leadership, and theology. Mission-hearted and deeply committed to biblical training, Greg continues to invest in pastors worldwide. Married to Susan since 1980, the Buckles remain passionate about discipleship, missions, and the local church—grateful for God’s faithfulness in every season of ministry.
