Guest Speaker - Rachel Cochran, Head of Neuro ICU Nurse, Methodist Mansfield

Rachel Cochran, MSN, RN, CCRN has worked for the past four years to grow the Neuro Science Service Line at Methodist Mansfield. As the Stroke Program Coordinator and then Program Manager, Rachel helped to add the neuro thrombectomy procedure for patients who are suffering from a large vessel occlusive stroke. In creating the pathway for these patients at MMMC, she has championed and implemented new AI technology which has been incorporated into their process, cutting treatment decision times by over 50%. In October of 2022, she opened the Neuro Trauma ICU, building a team and expanding processes to care for Neuro and Trauma Critical Care patients. In 2023, Rachel participated in the 5th floor expansion project which opened a new 16 bed Neuro Trauma ICU and an additional 16 bed Medical/Surgical unit, which she now leads. Rachel is currently collaborating with the Trauma Surgeons and Intensivists as they pursue Trauma Level II at MMMC, a huge undertaking, but a service that has already proven beneficial to our community.
